Pastor Derek Makri was saved at the age of 17 under the preaching ministry of an independent Baptist church in upstate New York.  Derek graduated from Bible college with a B.A. in Pastoral Ministries in 2002.  Shortly thereafter, he married his high-school sweetheart Danielle.  They have four children and enjoy serving the Lord together.  After graduating and getting married, Derek served as an assistant pastor and Christian school teacher for ten years in northeast New Jersey.  In October 2012, Christ Baptist Church called Derek to serve as their pastor.  Danielle plays the piano for the services of the church and is involved in many other ministries of the church.  Together they serve the Lord as a team.
